As you participate in this very special memorial run, take a few minutes to remember the young couple who inspired the event.
Kylie Brooke Jobe (20) and Kyle Thornburg (22) were high school sweethearts at Maize High School. Both loved athletics. Both were committed to continuing their education.
Together, they became innocent victims of a drunk driver as they returned home from a ski trip over spring break. They were killed in a tragic accident on I-70 when a 27-year-old man entered the interstate going the wrong direction. He had a blood alcohol level of .23 — almost three times the legal limit.
Three lives were lost that night. This run is to honor Kylie and Kyle, but it is also to remind everyone to make responsible decisions in their lives. Please don’t drink and drive.
